A special little package

Dear Readers,

Just a few days ago, on my first blog anniversay, this little box arrived in the post. A perfect day to receive a package from Sylvanian Families, don´t you think so?

Can you guess what´s inside?

If I tell you that I´ve recently joined the Sylvanian Family Premium Fan Club you won´t have any doubts about who is inside this little package.

Yes! It´s Freya Chocolate! This is my fifth Freya! but this one is very special!
The inside of the collector´s gift box looks like a small boutique.

Freya is wearing a lovely party dress.
In this close up photo you can read why she is wearing such a special outfit.

A close up of Freya. She looks gorgeous in her new dress. What do you think?

I also received a welcome letter from Freya

The welcome letter also gives details about all the gifts you get for joining the club.(Sorry for the bad picture. I took it with my phone and the lighting wasn´t very good either)

I know this is a collector´s item so part of me was determined no to unbox Freya but the other part was looking forward to remove the little rubber bands from her arms and set her free from the gift box and that´s what I eventually did, but only for a little while.

Here she is wearing her cute pink handbag.

For the past few months I had been considering the idea of becoming a member of the Sylvanian Premium Fan Club, specially after reading some collectors´ reviews.
But what it helped me to make up my mind was this information.

This special offer finishes on the 15th of November.I paid 15 pounds but I think it´s worthwile considering all the extra gifts I´ll receive.
I can´t wait to get the November magazine and the rest of the goodies!
I´ll keep you posted!

Are you also a member of the Sylvanian Premium Fan Club?

Lots of love

One year blog anniversary!

Dear Readers,

Time flies!Exactly one year ago, today,on the 8th of November I started this blog.

I honestly didn´t ever imagined that I´d ever reach over 10,000 pageviews!

I´m absolutely thrilled about it so today I want to say a big THANK YOU to all my readers, followers and visitors.

You all make my Sylvanian collection more meaninful and enjoyable to me. The fact that I can share it with all of you makes me really happy!

Thank you for reading my posts, looking at my pictures and leaving your comments.

Your kind words always make my day, cheer me up and encourage me to keep posting.

Thank you for being a fan and a friend in my hobby.

As you can guess, today is a special day in Sweet Berry Valley. I told my sylvanians about the one year blog anniversary. They never thought they were going to receive so many (on line) visitors. They are very surprised that so many people from all over the world are interested in their small village and simple way of life.

The Chocolates have been preparing the most delicious sweet treats to celebrate the one year anniversary."Help yourself"

Some of the ladies are having their own private celebration before joining the rest of the villagers. "Anyone for tea?"

And here come all the families ready for some fun. "Happy one year anniversary!" they all cheered.

"THANK YOU!" I hope to celebrate more blog anniversaries with you all.

Welcome back to Berry Grove School!

Dear Readers,
I meant to post this story at the beginning of September but family and work kept me quite busy for the past few weeks.I took some pictures at the end of August but I didn´t have time to download them from my camera until now.I´m a teacher and the beginning of a new academic year always involves a lot of work so I didn´t have much time left for my Sylvanians. As you can guess, being a teacher myself, a Sylvanian school was one of the first Sylvanian buildings I wanted to own so I was quite pleased when I added Berry Grove School to my collection.
I´m glad to welcome you all to join the Buckleys to get school ready for the new school year (Agatha Buckley is the headmistress and her husband Rupert is the Maths and Language teacher). Just, let´s pretend the story took place at the beginning of September.

********************************************

Berry Grove School is currently close for the summer but not for too long.
The holiday break is coming to an end.

A week before the start of a new school year,The Buckleys work hard to have everything ready before it is time for the children to go back to school.

Willow Thistlethorn, the school cleaning lady, was quick to knock at the door to offer her help. "Here I am, ready to leave the school spick-and-spam!".

Time to clean up for everyone!

Once everything is clean , it is time to arrange the furniture.

Agatha Buckley seems quite pleased with the U-shaped arrangement of this classroom.

"What do you think of the notice board?" Rupert asked his wife. The school headmistress always has the final word.
"Just perfect!"she sounded excited about the beginning of a new school year. She has so many projects in mind!

Meanwhile, upstairs, Maria is delighted to be in charge of organizing the art corner.

Agatha wanted to turn the reading corner into a cozy area for children to relax and enjoy reading.

Baby Oscar is still very young to read but the reading corner its his favourite. He likes to go there to ring the school bell. "Stop it Oscar!. It´s not time for school just yet"  Maria warned his little brother.

"School is good fun!" Oscar said out loud when was about to slide down the stair banister. His parents hope he doesn´t change his mind about school when he grows up.

Mr. Fenton, the music teacher is also busy getting all the instruments tuned up for his music class.

Attendance books are also ready! There are so many new students this year...The village is growing!

After a few days of hard work it seems everything is set up and ready to welcome a new school year.

Finally,it is time to go back to school!
The first day of school is always full of emotions!

Children are excited about seeing their friends.

Agatha and Rupert make sure all students are given a warm welcome.

"Look at you! You grew up so much during the summer!" Rupert told Ralph. "Do you think so, sir?" Ralph asked back feeling quite happy to hear that comment.
"I´m glad to see you Frances! Did you have a good summer" Agatha asked "I did, Mrs.Buckley but I was looking forward to going back to school" Frances Robinson is one of the best student.

School is about to start in Sweet Berry Valley! Welcome back!

********************************************

Hope you enjoy today´s post!

If you are a student and you are reading this post I wish you all the best for this year at school or university and if you have children at school I wish them all the best too! Good luck!

Lots of love

The Periwinkle Grandparents

Dear Readers,

I don´t know if I´ve already told you that I have a soft spot for Sylvanian grandparents.
I hope to collect them all little by little. The problem is some of them are discontinued and can only be acquired second hand or, if they´re brand new, at a high price.
I´ve been on the search for the Periwinkle Grandparents shortly after starting collecting. As the Periwinkle Rabbit Family is one of my favourites I wanted to add the grandparents to my collection and I´ve been lucky to do it recently!!
So, I´m really happy to introduce you to Mabel and Mack.

This is the bio I wrote for them:

Mack is now retired but he used to work as a clockmaker. Now, his eye sight is not as good as it used to be and his hands shake a little bit but he still loves to examine broken watches and clocks to find out what´s wrong with them and try to get them going again. He is always very punctual and you will hear him saying very often “time is money”.

Mabel Periwinkle was the owner of a small sewing shop. She is an expert at knitting and sewing. She would have loved her children had continued running her little business but none of them showed much interest. Actually, her daughter Clarice showed some interest in needles. However, not in sewing needles but in needle syringes instead. The truth is that now Mabel doesn´t complain anymore that her children are not working in her sewing shop. She is delighted to have a nurse in the family and she feels very proud to say his son Alex is the owner of The Blackcurrant Café where she loves to go with Mack to enjoy a lovely cup of coffee and a piece of blackurrant cake.

****************************************************I***************************

I´d love to have more time to dedicate to my Sylvanians but right now work is keeping me away from them. I´m quite busy at the moment. I just took a short break today to show you this new addition to my collection.

They´re a lovely couple, don´t you think so?

Lots of love
