The Willow Family: A New Beginning in Sweet Berry Valley

 Dear Readers,

If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll remember how Marius won Primrose’s heart with a pot of red primroses. Not long after, they got married and started their life together as the Willow family.

They spent several happy years living out of their customized flower truck, selling flowers in every corner of Sylvania.

However, with five children now,four of them still very young,and a truck that was starting to show its age and struggle on the road, Primrose and Marius realized that their traveling days were coming to an end. It was finally time to find a permanent home and establish their business for good.

After considering some of their favorite villages in Sylvania, they chose to settle in Sweet Berry Valley. They decided not to park their truck in the village center; they knew Rebecca Dingle already ran a successful flower shop there, and the Willows wanted to be good neighbors, not competitors.

Instead, the pink flower truck sat on the grass of High Valley Park. The almond trees were in full bloom at this time of year, making it a lovely spot.

Right nearby was a small, spring-inspired playground name "Little Blossom" that looked like it belonged in a fairy tale. 

It featured a florar swing, a flower-theme seesaw, and a small slide. There were even pastel coloured flowers used as stepping stones for the little ones to hop across.

It was the perfect place for the children to play while their parenta were working.

But before running to the playground, the Willow children knew that setting up was a true family effort. Before the first customer arrived, everyone had a job to do. Marius was busy unloading buckets filled with fresh, colourful flowers.

 

Primrose carefully arranged a beautiful flower basket. Little Rose was right by her side, eager to help her mother tuck the last stems into place.

This flower basket was to be placed next to a chalkboard at the park’s entrance. The sign read: "Grand Opening! Meet Flowever – Free seeds with every purchase." It was an invitation for their new neighbors to discover their flower truck.

Lily was organizing the packets of seeds, making sure they were ready for the giveaway.

Primrose then moved to the handmade wooden display Marius had built for her, placing her pressed flower frames for everyone to see.

Marius,with the help of Lily and Rose, set up the "For Green Fingers" corner. The Willows wanted to encourage the villagers to try their hands at gardening, so they offered tools, watering cans, and different seed packets.

Iris and Fern were still too little to help with the setup, but they didn't get in the way. Instead, they entertained themselves playing hide-and-seek among the flowerpots.

Baby Rowan, who had been fast asleep in a basket while the rest of the family prepared, woke up just in time to see the grand opening begin.

The curiosity of the villagers didn't take long to kick in:

The Flora family, who recently moved to Sweet Berry Valley, saw the sign at the park entrance. Since the whole family loves gardening  they were the first to arrive.

They bought some tools and a new watering can to replace their old, leaking one. 

Lennon and his sister Flora were delighted to get a packet of tulip seeds,their favourite flowers.

The Buckley family was thrilled to have another deer family in the village and stop by to give them a warm welcome.

Agatha Buckley couldn't take her eyes off the blue roses, not only were they her favorite flowers in her favorite colour, but they even matched the blue rose pattern on the dress she was wearing.

Before leaving, Agatha invited them over for dinner the following weekend, a gesture that Primrose and Marius happily accepted.

Peter and Peace spent a long time admiring the pressed flower frames.

They eventually chose a beautiful one featuring orange flowers.

Bianca Marshmallow and her daughter, Katherine, bought several pots of white and blue flowers. These colours matched their toy shop perfectly, so they chose them to decorate the entrance.

Marius thoughtfully offered to deliver them first thing the next morning so they wouldn't have to carry the heavy pots themselves. Bianca and Katherine were so grateful for his kindness.

Later that day, Charles Hunter Smith stopped by. Having taken his triplets for a walk in the park, he was delighted to find a place to buy flowers for his and Camila's anniversary.

Primrose helped him choose the perfect bouquet: tulips for perfect love, and pink roses for admiration, happiness and gratitude

The Willows also sold cards for special occasions so Frank picked out one with a red heart on the cover.

He decided to take it home to write a heartfelt message, wanting to explain that after all these years of marriage, those flowers showed exactly what his wife meant to him.

Nancy Waters picked out a lovely bouquet of tulips for her friend Betty Hazelwood, who was feeling a bit under the weather with a cold.

She also chose a pot of orange primroses for herself, a small act of self-care because she, too, deserved a little treat.

The biggest surprise came in the afternoon when Rebecca Dingle herself walked up the path with her family.

Primrose, who was busy adding one more frame to her collection of pressed flower art, felt a bit nervous, but she greeted them with a warm smile.

Rebecca wasn't annoyed at all; in fact, she leaned in close to admire Primrose’s compositions.

"These are incredible," Rebecca said sincerely. "I focus on fresh arrangements, but I’ve never seen work quite like this". 

"The village is growing so fast that there’s more than enough room for both of us. I think we’ll make a great team."

Primrose, touched by her kindness, offered Rebecca one of her favorite pressed flower pictures as a gift.

"Please, take this," Primrose said with a smile. "It’s a small gift to celebrate our new friendship."

Rebecca’s eyes lit up as she took the frame. "It’s beautiful, Primrose! It will have a special place in my shop. Welcome to the valley."

Meanwhile,the children from both families began to play and got along straight away and Marius and Dominic, Rebecca´s husband,were having a cheerful conversation about plant fertilizers.

Their first day in Sweet Berry Valley was a wonderful success. As the afternoon activity began to quiet down, the Willows prepared to call it a day. Tired but happy, they helped each other pack up the truck before heading toward their new home. 

They knew they had made the right choice to finally settle down their flower truck for good,right here in Sweet Berry Valley among the blooming almond trees.

I find the Willow family absolutely adorable, and I’m really happy they’ve settled in Sweet Berry Valley. 

Decorating a house for them is a project I’d love to take on in the long run, but I don’t plan on starting just yet,mostly because life is quite busy at the moment, and I know it's a project that will take some time.
