A few days ago, I was sorting out my pieces of fabric when Peace turned up wearing a bikini. It seemed she came straight from the beach where her boyfriend Peter Babblebrook owns a bar.I´m giving you these details just in case you haven´t heard about Peter and Peace before but if you are regular readers of my blog you have already met this young couple in several occasions.
"Did you make Freya´s dress? Peace asked me when she saw the white on red polka dot fabric.
"No,I did´t. I´m not very good at sewing".
"Did you make Freya´s dress? Peace asked me when she saw the white on red polka dot fabric.
"No,I did´t. I´m not very good at sewing".
Shortly after, she left the table and jumped into the big bag where I keep all my remnants of fabric. She seemed to be very comfortable lying on top of them!
She started rummaging through the bag as if she was looking for something in particular.
A few minutes later she caught my attention:
"Cutata! Would you be able to make a dress out of this fabric, please? I thinks it suits me!"
That wasn´t a remnant piece of fabric but a dress of mine that I don´t wear anymore because it doesn´t fit me properly.A real shame because I like it a lot!I usually recycle old clothes but this time I intended to reuse it in order to make something out of it, probably a pencil case.
When I took the dress out of the bag and put in on the table, Peace looked really excited.
She´s not a fashion victim at all. Actually, she is quite the opposite. She is just trying to find something that suits her style. Dresses with aprons and fancy satin outfits are not what she is looking for.She is a bit of a hippie, a kind of a bohemian and a free spirit just like Peter.
Sewing is not my strengh at all but I decided to give it a go and make a new dress for her. Wearing a lampshade is not a great idea.
I got down to work and when the dress was finished I showed it to Peace who seemed to be very happy with the final result.
"Thank you Cutata!" A mini dress out of your dress!
As I´m not good at sewing I had to look for a way to make the dress easy enough to assemble. I used the bottom part of my dress for Peace´s dress too. Those stitches were in the original dress and stopped the fabric from fraying.
For the waist I used one of the straps.
The top part was just a tiny piece of the top part of my dress and I used green ribbon for the straps.
I got carried away and I also made two bags to match her outfit.
She planted a big kiss on my cheek and this time she offered herself to pose again in front of the camera.
All of a sudden Peter interrupted the photo session. He was wondering where Peace was.
"Wow, Peace, you look so cool! I love this dress much more than the lampshade!"
When they were about to leave Peace asked Peter:
"Bye-Bye Cutata and thanks again!"

"Do you like this paper? I have a project in mind but I need your help."
Can you guess what she´s thinking about?
"Bye-Bye Cutata and thanks again!"
"Hope to see you soon guys!"

I love this couple! The funny thing is I only expected Peater and Peace to appear in one of last year challenges "It´s too hot". I needed someone to run the beach bar I made for this challenge.I have two figures of "Rocky Babblebrook" so I changed his name for Peter (Rocky is his twin brother). Then, I thought it could be nice for Peter to have some company that´s why I turned a spare grey rabbit into Peace, a girl he met in one of his trips. He offered her a job for the summer and she accepted.
As far as I remember, it was Fox, a member of the forum, who wanted to know if Peter and Peace were going to be together after the summer. That question inspired me to write the stories I posted last Christmas.Fox,if you ever read this, thank you very much for inspiring me to keep writing about this couple. I´m really happy they are together.

Wow, your very talented, Cutata! Love the dress. It really suits Peace. Great pictures, like always. So creative!! Glad to see Peter and Peace are doing well for after the summer. :D They probably had a lot of customers at their beach bar, so it's good they can have a break when the summer is almost over. Have a great day,

Hi Emilie!
EliminarThanks a lot! I´m glad you like the dress. My attempt at making dresses doesn´t always turn out well but at least this time I didn´t use double sided tape, haha!Peter and Peace have been working very hard all summer. The beach was quite busy and they had a lot of customers so they asked me if I could them with me on holidays. They wanted to have a break. As they love travelling and new experiences they climbed into my suitcase and I know they really enjoyed being in the real world.
Have a lovely week!
Ah this is great!
ResponderEliminarI love the kind of gypsy/ bohemian vibes of this pair..They’re both very stylish in their own way!
Its nice that you can re purpose old clothes..It means you can still enjoy the garment even if you can’t wear it yourself any more^^
I’m glad things are working out for them! ;D
Isla
Hi Isla!
ResponderEliminarThanks for your comment! I´m happy to read you like their style, a bit different to the rest of sylvanians but I think that´s a good thing.
I like to reuse old clothes to make stuff for my sylvanians, such as sofas, bed linen and clothes. My dad recognized one of his old shirts when he saw one of my handmade sofas. This items have more meaning to me and in some case even sentimental value.
Have a wonderful week!
Lovely dress and story ! I must say I'm like Peace, I don't like much fancy dresses with satin and ribbons, be it for me or my Sylvanians :-) You did a great job reusing the bottom of your dress to avoid the fabric fraying ! I had a big laugh with "wearing a lampshade is not a great idea" :-)
ResponderEliminarHope you had nice holidays
Arcadia
Hi Arcadia!
ResponderEliminarThank you for your kind feedback!Peace went to Salome´s dress shop and couldn´t find anything she really liked. Satin is becoming very popular not only in town but also in villages. It´s the new fashion trend in Sylvania but it doesn´t suit her style at all so I tried my best to make this dress.
I had lovely holidays, especially the days I spent at the beach.Hope you enjoyed your summer too.
A big hug!
Hi Cutata!
ResponderEliminarI love the new dress you made for Peace! It really suits her. It's adorable that you made a mini-dress out of your own dress, haha! Amazing idea. :) I absolutely adore those little handbags you made for her, they're so perfect! As are the little accessories she's wearing. I love Peter's clothes too, they are such a cute couple! I'm sure they had a wonderful time at the beach with you and your family in their well-deserved vacation!
Could the wallpaper be for their new home? Or maybe a cool caravan...? :D
Have a great week!
Hi Ayrell!
ResponderEliminarThanks a lot for your kind words!I´m glad to know you like the dress and the bags I made for Peace. Peace likes to make her own bags but this time I made them for her. She makes bracelets and pendants too. This summer she has been selling some of her creations at the beach. She is trying to save money to buy a van. Since they saw Apple´s and Juice´s van both Peter and Peace fell in love with it and they´ve been working hard to be able to afford it at some stage. As you say, they deserved a break at the end of the summer. They had a very good time on their vacation.
As for the wallpape,r you guessed right! One of the projects I have in mind is decorating their cottage. That´s going to be fun!
Hugs!
The accessories you made for Peace look amazing, no wonder she's so happy about them! :) Looking forward to seeing this lovely couple's cottage! A caravan just like Apple and Juice's would be perfect for them as well, I hope they're able to afford it very soon! :)
EliminarHugs!
This is great Cutata! The dress turned out lovely and looks perfect on Peace; she really suits it! I love how Peace and Peter are so different to other Sylvanians. It makes them really interesting and unique!
ResponderEliminarAll the best to them in saving for their own caravan like Apple and Juice's-it would suit Peter and Peace perfectly!
Have a good weekend!
Hi Kelsie,
EliminarSorry for taking so long to reply to your comment but I´ve been very busy and I didn´t have time for sylvanians at all. I´m glad to read you like Peace´s dress. I agree with you, Peace and Peter are different to other sylvanians and that makes them special.
They still have to save some more money to be able to afford the van but hopefully they will get it at some stage.
Have a nice day!
Hugs!
Hi Cutata - "Not good at sewing", indeed? I think you did a fantastic job! Peace's new dress is just perfect for her. Peter and Peace make such a sweet couple - I look forward to seeing their cottage. :)
ResponderEliminarHi GreyRabbit!
EliminarThanks for your kind words and sorry for the late reply to your comment but real life is quite busy at the moment.I´m also looking forward to decorating Peace´s and Peter cottage. I will as soon as real life gives me a break. I have three other houses that I have to finish decorating. Too many projects and not enough time!
Have a nice day!
Hugs!
Congrats on winning the contest! I loved your story!
How cute is Peace! She is an incredibly sweet character (is she adult sized or grandparent sized, I wonder) and as usual, your placement of your Sylvanians makes their characters shine through.
ResponderEliminarThe bikini pictures really stress the youthfulness of the character, and the dress you made is super. One of these days I must have another go at making some Sylvanian clothes - I would like to perfect a boiler suit - but other things get in the way.
Oh, and that picture of Peace posing, looking over her shoulder... haha! Great!
Enjoy the rest of the month!
Hi Jackson!
EliminarThanks a lot for your kind words and sorry for taking longer than usual to reply to your comment. As you know, life gets in the way sometimes. I´m always very busy at this time of the year.
I miss my sylvanians and I decided to have a break to get into the sylvanian world. It always helps me unwind.
Peace is adult sized. She is very cute indeed. When she appeared in one of the crafting challenges last year I didn´t intend her to appear in future posts or stories. However, now Peter and Peace are two of my favourite sylvanians. The fact that they are a bit different to the rest, make them interesting and unique, as Kelsie pointed out in her comment.
I´m happy to know you all seem to be very fond of this couple.
Have a lovely day!
Hugs!
